A North Carolina native, Doug acquired his love for the mountains through frequent family camping trips to the area. He graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Always the entrepreneur, Doug founded a highly successful business in international trade and quickly learned the key to success is uncompromising customer service. Doug later sold that business and bought a second home in the Highlands area. He began investing in local real estate properties including restoring and re-styling homes, as well as building new homes for resale. In 2000, that business became official with a Broker’s License (both in NC and GA) and full time residency in Highlands. Doug has earned two of the most prestigious designations in the industry: the GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). He brings to his business a high level of experience in real estate brokerage, as well as residential construction and development. In the end, he knows uncompromising customer service is still the key to success.
