Ron is a North Carolina native who has spent the past 25 years with his family in the Cashiers area, 15 of those as a real estate broker. He is an active community member, having served on the Highlands-Cashiers Board of Realtors as Treasurer and President and on its Scholarship Committee for many years. He is also the western North Carolina ambassador for the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC. Ron specializes in Lake Glenville lakefront, lake and mountain view, and resort-style properties, including the secondary homebuyer’s market, having worked with hundreds of clients in the area. He is extremely familiar with real estate trends in the local market of Cashiers, Highlands, Glenville, Cullowhee, and Sapphire, where he worked with two other firms prior to joining the Landmark team. Ron has been involved in several building projects in the area, including acting as general contractor while building his own home in the Lake Glenville area. His vast construction experience provides him with an understanding of the building process, from foundation to completion, giving him an edge when viewing a home’s features and allowing him to provide thoughtful guidance to his clients. Prior to becoming a Realtor, Ron was an educator in the local school system for many years, most recently at Summit Charter School, where two of his daughters attended before graduating from Highlands High School. His oldest daughter is currently in graduate school at Boston Architectural College studying Sustainable Design, while his youngest is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill where she is majoring in biology and neuroscience. His middle daughter is an active member of the NC National Guard. Ron attended Warner Southern University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and graduate school at the University of South Florida in Lakeland, Florida, where he met his wife of 25 years, Tonya, who is also a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina. Ron and his family enjoy boating on Lake Glenville, water sports, and traveling.
