Dick Hattler was born and raised in the Republic of Panama and is fluent in Spanish. Moving from Panama to Coral Gables in the 1960's, Dick went on to graduate from the University of Florida where he met his wife to be, and then started his career as a real estate appraiser with a group of MAIs in Miami. In 1975 Dick, along with his wife Debby, started Western Hemisphere Realty and specialized in sales of U.S. real estate to foreign investors. Dick moved into a career as a commercial real estate lender in 1980 with the major lending department of First Federal (aka AmeriFirst Federal). He went on to become the Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. In the 1990s Dick went back to his real estate career roots with a real estate investment firm with offices in Miami and Geneva, Switzerland, selling investment real estate with a specialization in credit triple net leased investments throughout the U.S. Dick and Debby decided to make the move to the Highlands/Cashiers area where they had been spending their summers for years. Dick’s parents were founding members of Wildcat Cliffs Country Club, so they felt they had roots here. Eager to stay involved in real estate, Dick and Debby have been leaders in the local real estate community and are excited to join Landmark’s Cashiers office.
