A native of Brevard, North Carolina, Karen spent her childhood exploring the beautiful rivers and streams of Western North Carolina, camping from the mountains to the coast, fishing, hiking, growing gardens and learning how to cook great Southern food from her mother, grandmothers and great-grandmother.
The real estate development business would move her family to Texas, where Karen learned quickly that Real Estate was in her Blood. In 1987, as a student at the University of Texas, she became a licensed Realtor and started sitting in open houses for new home builders on the weekends at Lake Travis and never looked back. This was her second experience with new developments and builders. Over the next 35 years, Karen would form connections with builders from house plan designing to finding the sites to final development. After graduating college, Karen worked at a boutique firm about one hour north of Houston on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas. She became a Broker in Texas and has been a Broker for 35 years.
Karen has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She produced 30 million in sales a year with approximately 150 transactions. She was consistently in the top 10% of agents in Montgomery County, Texas, Consistently the top producer at Keller Williams Realty both locally and nationally and recognized as a top producer at Real Estate Leader by the Houston Business Journal.
Karen’s upbringing instilled a servant attitude from childhood. Karen has been on the boards of/or chaired fundraisers for the Humane Society, The American Cancer Society, and The Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteers at the Local Texas Friendship Center for the Elderly. Currently, she and her husband, Ron, live in Burlingame, and she serves on the board of her condominium association. Karen also belongs to the Institute of Luxury Home Marketing, an invitation-only real estate website. When not working, Karen enjoys golf, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
