Why did we create the Landmark Realty Group’s Annual Chili Cook-Off? Besides the opportunity to eat delicious offerings of chili, this flavor-filled event is our way of saying “thank you” to our clients and community for another great year. Why chili? There’s just something about that first hint of coolness in the air that instantly makes you want to throw on an oversized cozy sweater and eat one thing…CHILI! Turn on a ball game, curl up on the couch and savor a big bowl of your favorite recipe. Sure, there are many fall favorites for cooler months such as chicken and dumplings (or any soup, really), sweet potatoes, beef stew, and pumpkin bread. But, no one can deny that the crowning fall food champion is chili. We all know it. We all love it. And, though there is a multitude of varieties in heat, flavor, ingredients and toppings, the one thing we can all agree on is that this comfort food definitely hits the spot when temperatures start to dip.

That’s why we are in our second decade of hosting our community’s Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours and Landmark Realty Group’s Annual Chili Cook-Off. 2019 Landmark Realty Group's Annual Chili Cook-Off
It was picture-perfect 'chili' weather in Cashiers and the 13th Annual Chili Cook-Off saw a record number of participants and crowds behind Landmark's Vacation Rentals office at the "Crossroads." Everyone enjoyed an evening filled with music, a great fall atmosphere and good company. Delicious varieties of chili and accompanying delights were presented by a competitive and friendly group of entrants. The runners up were last year's winners, Girls On Fire. This year's winner was a first-time entrant, Firehouse Chili.
Congratulations to all and save the date for next year: Thursday, Oct. 16.
