Volunteer Spotlight: Mary Abranyi
Both residents of and visitors to the Highlands-Cashiers plateau can agree on the importance of the natural beauty in this area. One of the plateau’s most majestic features is the Chattooga River – a designated Wild and Scenic River – with thrilling waterfalls, splashy swimming holes, and relaxing spots for catching fish. Landmark Realty Group broker Mary Abranyi (shown at left in photo) is helping protect this local treasure by declaring July a “Yoga and River Awareness Fundraiser Month” for the Chattooga Conservancy.
So, what does yoga have to do with the Chattooga River? Mary, who is not only a broker with Landmark, but leads a double life as the owner of yoga studio Cashiers Valley Fusion as well, will have a donation station set up inside of Cashiers Valley Fusion. All money raised will go to the Chattooga Conservancy, which protects the river through various initiatives. Why does she do this? Mary says, “It’s important to me to find ways to give back to the environment and to the community and since the Chattooga River is so ecologically diverse and amazingly beautiful, I think it’s more than deserving of my attention and efforts. In fact, it’s one of my favorite places for outdoor play and adventure with my family!”
This is just one of the many ways our agents and staff give back to our wonderful community. Stay tuned to this space to read more stories about how they help make the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau a better place to live.
